Start of Summa Vaca!

Whoohoooo! Yippeee!! I've just completed my first week of summer vacation and I must say that
I. Am. LOVING IT! (Maybe a little too much)
One of the best parts of summer is that I get to spend a few hours with my husband and Laura before he heads off to work. It's so nice to do our quiet time, sip on hot coffee, and just enjoy the morning together. And of course once he leaves I'm busy on TpT ;) Really though, that's my form of relaxation.

And since I've been "relaxing" all week, I've created a TON of new products that I'm excited to share! There are a few schools in my county that are becoming "Leader in Me" schools this upcoming year and, even though my school isn't officially partaking, I still plan on implementing it in my classroom. So in the spirit of teaching my kiddos to become leaders, I've created this...

            ...and this.

I am so excited to see how my students become leaders in our classroom, school, community, and nation! If it's one thing this generation needs, it's a solid group of positive leaders.

Check out my TpT Store for other designs!

If you have read or are currently reading "The Leader in Me" & "The 7 Habits of Happy Kids" please share your strategies/ideas. I'd love to hear how you are going to implement it!

Back to School SAAAALE!!!

In the words of Billy Madison, "Back to school! Back to school! To prove to Dad that I'm not a fool. I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight. Ohhh, back to school! Back to school! Back to school!"

This has been a crazily, insanely, BUSY week...and we only had one voluntary workday! Of course the Perfectionist Polly in me had to be at school every. single. day. But I'm so glad that I did. My new room is pretty much finished {pics to come next week!} so now all that's left is planning. On the schedule next week is pre-planning, meetings, and Back to School Night!! I'm so excited to see those little babies! Ok, they're 5th graders, but still babies none-the-less ;)

In the meantime, check out my TpT store for a well deserved SALE! All items in my store are 20% off today. Type in the promo code to get an EXTRA 8% off, tomorrow and Monday only! Thank you TpT for throwing such an awesome sale! Teachers need all the sales we can get ;) Can I get an amen?
Have a relaxing weekend!

Monday Made It

Happy Monday!
Today has been a very exciting/busy/productive day. Since summer vacation started I've been hoarding storing various things for my classroom in the trunk of my car. It was getting kinda packed so I decided to head on over to my room and drop some things off. A "quick trip to the school" turned into a 3 hour trip! (isn't that how it always is?) I popped into my principal's office and she told me some exciting news.....(cue the drumroll).....I will be moving from 4th to 2nd grade next year!! I cannot tell you how EXCITED I am about it! Of course as soon as she told me I started mapping out next year's curriculum. Any 2nd grade bloggers out there? I'd love to link up with you and share ideas! And yes, this does mean that I will have to move classrooms (AAAHHH!!) But it will be refreshing to organize and tidy-up :) I can't wait to post pictures of my new classroom!

So this brings me to my Monday Made It...

I created this ELA Cursive Alphabet Set under the assumption that I was going to be teaching 4th grade Reading, but I'm sure it will come in handy for you wonderful reading teachers out there. ;)

I have a print and cursive (thanks for the suggestion!) version for sale at my TpT store. It's only $1 so check it out! My next project will be to create one that is more "2nd grade friendly" for my new kiddos. I'll share that soon. Make sure you head on over to Fourth Grade Frolics and check out some other great Monday Made Its :)
Well I'm off to prepare for Bible Study this evening. I only had 2 days to read about 15 pages...yikes!

Some Firsts :)

I'm here to celebrate two things: First, I've decided to take the plunge. What I thought would be a simple afternoon project has turned out to be a lot more work than I expected. I've stayed up until 2 a.m. some nights trying to figure out this ridiculous awesome thing! I will be sharing ideas and activities that I use in my classroom (including some FREEBIES!), as well as things that go on at the good 'ol Winnie Residence. As a dedicated blog stalker, I can't wait to get this thing started!! ;)

My second celebration (which I am suuuper excited about) is my first ever TpT product! Thinking about next school year really got me motivated to find a teacher lesson planner/binder. Nothing like all-in-one organization :) After a lot of online research I found an Erin Condren planner that I fell in love with....until I saw the total cost in my shopping cart. Yeah. Total let down. It would be awesome to have a $60 planner, but I figured it would be even cooler to have one that I personally created! I got to work and in a matter of hours I whipped this bad boy together. I must admit that for my first online product I'm pretty proud of it. It's for sale at my TpT store, so check it out! It includes color friendly pages for those who like to save on ink (myself included).

If you download, please leave me some feedback and check out my other products. Thanks!
